Man of Steel Revisited

A Faded Romantic's Notebook

In the half light

Man of Steel

I feel nothing

I am a man of steel.

.

I do not care

If I never hear from you

Again.

I am not your friend.

.

I feel nothing

I am a man of steel.

.

Don’t want to

Ever hear your voice

on the phone.

I’d rather be alone.

.

I feel nothing

I am a man of steel.

.

I do not care

If you never write me

A word.

Not a word.

.

I feel nothing

I am a man of steel.

.

Don’t want to

Even remember the nights

We shared.

I just don’t care.

.

I am a man of steel

I feel nothing.

.

She hates the mirror.

In it she witnesses all her perceived imperfections, all her imagined failings, all her familiar faults. She has compared herself to others and found herself wanting. She finds no joy in her own reflection.

I tell her to imagine the glass as my own eyes. To imagine that it is I who is admiring her curves, studying her lines, exploring her body, becoming lost in her beauty.

She momentarily catches a glimpse of herself as I see her, her perfection captured in my vision.

She half senses the reason for my adoration.

She almost understands why she thrills me so.

Show Me Your Friends

Growing up all I ever heard was “show me your friends and I tell you who you are.” I never understood what this meant. Until now.

Throughout my life and my most challenging experiences I’ve triumphed. Seemingly due to how great I thought I was but after reflection, I’ve realized that they’ve all helped me through. I love them all to the end of the earth.

Does “no” mean no?

A dominant and submissive life

standing stoneIt does to us.

Someone asked if saying no undermines someone’s submission.

In my view it doesn’t.

My girl knows she has the absolute right to say no to anything I want from her.

She uses that right (dammit).

But, if we try something, develop it – and she finds it breaks no concrete limit, then it becomes part of who we are.

At that time, she can say “No” as often as she wants and know that I can and will ignore it and take what I wish – because i have her informed consent to it. She has lost the right to say “NO!”.

Her submission is her property, until she gives it to me. Then each thing she gives becomes part of our dynamic and is there for me to use.

It helps me see her submission as real – because she volunteers her general consent and

Hungary has taken a bold stand against biotech giant Monsanto and genetic modification by destroying 1000 acres of maize found to have been grown with genetically modified seeds, according to Hungary deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Lajos Bognar. Unlike many European Union countries, Hungary is a nation where genetically modified (GM) seeds are banned. In a similar stance against GM ingredients, Peru has also passed a 10 year ban on GM foods.

Almost 1000 acres of maize found to have been ground with genetically modified seeds have been destroyed throughout Hungary, deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Lajos Bognar said. The GMO maize has been ploughed under, said Lajos Bognar, but pollen has not spread from the maize, he added.

Unlike several EU members, GMO seeds are banned in Hungary. The checks will continue despite the fact that seek traders are obliged…
